US actress Selma Blair has been arrested by police on charges of misconduct toward passengers and crew while on board an aircraft. The 54-year-old actress is accused of behaving in a physically aggressive manner toward passengers and crew on a Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Los Angeles to New York. The Port Authority Police Department of New York and New Jersey released this information on Monday (October 12).

The actress, known for her roles in films such as *Cruel Intentions* and *Hellboy*, was identified by police as a suspect in the incident that occurred on the plane on Sunday evening.

According to a police statement, Selma was taken into custody at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. She was subsequently transported to a hospital for a medical evaluation. Two flight attendants were reportedly injured during the incident, with one of them requiring hospital treatment.

Meanwhile, Delta Air Lines stated that the airline has zero tolerance for disruptive or unlawful behavior, emphasizing that the safety of its passengers and crew is the top priority.

On Monday, Selma appeared in a court in the New York borough of Queens to face charges related to the incident. According to a video clip of the proceedings published online, she is also accused of kicking a police officer who was on duty at the time of her arrest. Furthermore, she is alleged to have kicked a nurse at the hospital where she was later taken.

However, a representative for the actress stated that Selma experienced a medical emergency while on the flight, which led to her behavior. The actress has previously spoken openly about her battle with multiple sclerosis; she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease in 2018.
