’Godzilla’ actress dies in road accident at 18

American actress Kelly Huttle, who gained international fame at a young age, has died in a tragic road accident. She died in a car accident in Maryland, USA, at the age of 18. Police have confirmed the incident.

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office in Maryland reported that a car lost control and crashed into a tree in the early hours of Tuesday (July 21). There were three passengers in the car, including the driver. Kelly Huttle was the only one who died on the spot.

The driver of the car was a 19-year-old man. He suffered minor injuries in the accident and is currently out of danger. After the initial investigation, the police said that excessive speed could be the main reason for this fatal accident.

It is known that Kelly Huttle was deaf. The history of deafness in her family extends back four generations. Her father, Joshua Huttle, is also deaf.

The actress first gained worldwide fame for playing the role of 'Jia' in the 2021 blockbuster thriller 'Godzilla vs. Kong'. Later, she won the hearts of the audience by playing the same role in the second installment of the franchise, 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire', released in 2024. Her performance in the films was widely praised.

In an interview with 'Good Morning America' in March this year, Kelly said about her success, 'My classmates are enjoying it very much. They are really happy to see one of their friends acting alongside King Kong on the big screen.'

Family and educational institutions stunned by grief

Kelly Hottle's father, Joshua Hottle, said in a video message through American Sign Language with a very heavy heart that he was leaving for Maryland. He captioned the video, "I'm boarding a flight I never wanted to take in my life."

Kelly was a 12th grader at the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin. Her school has expressed deep sorrow over her untimely death.

In a message on social media, the school wrote, "We are deeply saddened by the irreparable loss of Kelly. Our deepest condolences to her family, friends and classmates at this difficult time. May everyone be able to bear this difficult loss."
