The Israeli army said it shot and killed several Palestinians in the Shujaiya area of Gaza City. They claimed that the men had crossed the Yellow Line and “posed a threat” to Israeli troops.
The Gaza government said that at least 97 Palestinians have been killed and 230 injured in Israeli attacks since the last ceasefire, which began on October 10 this year. They also said that Israel had violated the ceasefire agreement at least 80 times during this time.
The Israeli army claimed that it had recently carried out several airstrikes in response to Hamas’s ceasefire violations, killing dozens of Palestinians. However, Hamas denied the allegations.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said that the ceasefire in Gaza was still in effect. He stressed that the US was working to keep the situation “very peaceful”.
Israel's Gaza operation, which began in October 2023, has so far killed at least 68,159 Palestinians and injured 170,203.
