Confusion over woman who spoke as Osman Hadi’s sister

A woman named Shabnam Khadija spoke at the election rally of the 11-party alliance supported by Jamaat-e-Islami in Dhaka-11 constituency as the sister of Sharif Osman Hadi. At that time, she also sought votes for Nahid Islam. Although she introduced herself as Hadi's sister, confusion has arisen over her real identity. Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman was also present at the rally held on Sunday (February 8).

After the woman gave her speech, Osman Hadi's wife Rabeya Islam Shampa posted a post on social media Facebook. There, she called on the woman to be fake.

In the Facebook post, Hadi's wife mentioned that Shaheed Osman Hadi was not associated with any political party during his lifetime. Therefore, she urged the parties not to use the name of Shaheed Osman Hadi for their own interests. However, she also said that there is no obstacle if everyone uses his ideology.

This post was shared by Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Manch. In the comment box, he said, according to the family's information, she (the woman who gave the speech) is not one of Hadi Bhai's three sisters. However, nothing was immediately known about who the woman named Shabnam Khadija is or what her real identity is.

In this regard, Fatima Tasnim Juma, spokesperson of the Dhaka University branch of Inqilab Manch and DUCSU leader, told Jumantar, "As far as I have learned from the news, relatives of their (Osman Hadi) ill-wishers live in that area. However, none of Hadi Bhai's three sisters were there. We came to know this by talking to the family. We are not sure who it is."
