US is pressuring Europe to release diesel stockpiles

The United States is pressuring European allies like France and Germany to release their diesel reserves to help offset the rising cost of fuel in the global market. European countries have been stockpiling the fuel for use during the crisis. Earlier on Wednesday (September 30), Donald Trump hinted at suspending or stopping diesel exports from the United States.
Diesel prices in the United States have now increased by about 70 percent. This instability in the fuel market has started since the start of the war in Iran. Diesel is being sold for $6.39 per gallon in the country, which is about $1.50 per liter. Due to this abnormal increase in fuel prices, the prices of common goods are also increasing sharply. As a result, analysts believe that Donald Trump's Republican Party is rapidly losing popularity.
It is feared that this could have a negative impact on the upcoming November midterm elections and that Republicans could lose their majority in Congress. Meanwhile, according to Germany's ADAC motoring club, diesel prices in the country have currently reached $10.24 per gallon.
