Israeli forces shell southern Syria

Israeli forces have shelled Syria's southern Quneitra province, but local sources said there were no casualties or injuries.The Syrian state news agency SANA reported that the Israeli army shelled the area around the village of Samdania, east of northern Quneitra, Mehr News Agency reported. 

The report said there were no fatalities or injuries as a result of the attack, but details about the extent of damage were not immediately available.  

Meanwhile, various reports have indicated that Israel has taken advantage of the security situation in Syria after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's government. In these operations, in addition to targeting heavy defense installations and warplanes, Israeli forces have advanced towards the Quneitra region in southern Syria.

The report also states that Israel has occupied some areas of southern Syria, including the strategically important Jabal al-Sheikh mountain range.
