Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that any attack by the US will face a ‘crushing response’. They made this warning in a new statement after the retaliatory attacks with the US. According to Al Jazeera,

the IRGC claimed that Tehran is responsible for controlling shipping in the Strait of Hormuz according to the interim agreement between the US and Iran.

They also said that ‘from now on, stricter measures will be taken against ships that violate the rules than before.’

The IRGC warned that any potential aggression by the enemy under any pretext—such as the US attacks in the past few days—will face a ‘crushing response.’

The statement also said that violating the ceasefire is a violation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the two countries. If this happens, all ongoing processes will be completely stopped.

Meanwhile, the United States has carried out airstrikes in Iran for the second consecutive day. Washington claimed that the operation was carried out in response to an attack on a commercial vessel.

In a statement, the Central Command (CENTCOM), which conducts US military operations in the Middle East, said that the attack was carried out on the orders of the president.

CENTCOM said, "US forces carried out strikes today in response to Iran's continued aggression against commercial shipping."

They claim that the attacks targeted Iran's military surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defense installations, drone storage and mine-laying capabilities at sea.
