Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has alleged that he received no warning from the United States or other allies prior to a Russian ballistic missile attack. Furthermore, he claims that Washington has sidestepped inquiries regarding why no advance notice was provided.

Addressing the lack of warning, Zelenskyy stated, "We have not received a clear explanation from our strategic partners in Washington as to why this is happening. To be honest, I do not know the answer myself."

According to a CNN report, this marks the third time in a week that Russia has launched a missile attack on Ukraine—yet, on each occasion, the United States failed to provide advance warning.

In response to Zelenskyy’s allegations, U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday, "We share intelligence—we share a great deal of information."

Trump added, "Don't talk to me about Ukraine. We have given Ukraine a great deal; they have given us nothing in return."

Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials suspect that the United States has, at times, restricted the flow of intelligence regarding Russian attacks. A Bloomberg report on Monday indicated that, due to a reduction in U.S. intelligence sharing, Ukraine did not receive advance warning of the initial wave of Russian strikes on Sunday. However, Ukrainian officials noted that the warning mechanism was restored in time for the second wave of attacks that same evening.

Separately, a senior U.S. Department of Defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Bloomberg that there has been no change in the Pentagon’s policy regarding intelligence sharing with Ukraine. Nevertheless, Ukrainian officials maintain that U.S. intelligence support has become unusually inconsistent over the past week.

Previously, the United States had temporarily halted intelligence sharing with Ukraine following Donald Trump’s inauguration for his second term in March 2025. This decision followed a tense meeting at the White House involving Trump, Zelenskyy, and U.S. Vice President JD Vance. However, the exchange of information was resumed shortly thereafter.

In recent days, tensions have escalated between Zelenskyy and Trump. Zelenskyy has criticized the stance of the Trump administration, while Trump has alleged that Zelenskyy is not interested in ending the war with Russia.
