Donald Trump has named journalist Benny Ray Harmoni as his deputy press secretary, more than a month after Carolyn Levitt resigned as White House press secretary. Harmoni, 24, previously served as chief White House correspondent for Real America's Voice.
TMZ reported that Harmony will begin working as a White House spokesperson starting Monday.
Harmony herself confirmed her appointment in a post on social media. Harmony thanked US President Donald Trump for giving her the opportunity and trusting her.
In the message, he wrote, "I am very pleased to announce that I am joining the Trump administration as the Deputy White House Press Secretary. It has been an honor to cover, travel, and report on this historic administration as the senior White House correspondent for Real America's Voice. My goal has always been to ask the questions that matter to real Americans and make sure their voices are heard."
He also wrote, "I am deeply grateful to President Trump for this opportunity and trust. I look forward to this new chapter in my career, serving the American people and continuing to fight for the American Dream. America First."
During her time as a correspondent, Harmony was described as a trusted voice for the 'MAGA' movement by White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly.
"She is a wonderful addition to President Trump's team as deputy press secretary. We look forward to welcoming her to our team!" Kelly told TMZ.
Who is this Benny Ray Harmony?
Former journalist Benny Ray Harmoni served as the chief White House correspondent for Real America's Voice. He joined the organization in September 2025 after leaving his job as a news anchor in Springfield, Illinois. While in Springfield, he was suspended for giving an emotional on-air tribute to Charlie Kirk following his death. In an interview with Fox News, he said he refused to delete a video he had made in tribute to Charlie Kirk. He resigned after it was banned from airing.
Describing what happened at work, Harmony said, "I said, 'I'm not going to be here anymore.' I said, 'I'm resigning and I'm not going to stay silent.' I refuse to accept that I can't talk about a person I respect or care about."
Harmony previously worked at 'Turning Point USA' from 2021 to 2022. According to a Fox News report, it is a conservative advocacy organization that Charlie Kirk founded when he was just 18 years old.
Where is Caroline Levitt now?
Carolyn Levitt, a well-known and popular face in the White House, stepped down as White House press secretary in August to spend time with her family. She was the youngest person to hold the position. She was widely praised by President Trump.
Donald Trump confirmed her departure in a post, saying, "This is a decision that I completely understand and respect." He added, "Caroline is now one of my top outside advisors. She will serve as an influential voice within the Republican Party." Source: NDTV
