Siobhan Gillis has ended her long-term relationship with tech mogul Elon Musk. However, Gillis claims that the breakup was completely unexpected for her. She said that the two exchanged loving messages just a week before the relationship ended.

On October 2 (Friday), Gillis announced the end of their relationship in a long post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

"It's hard to go from being in love to being in a state of letting go in just a week, without any warning," he wrote.

Gillis said she was deeply hurt by the breakup, but was grateful for the time she spent with Musk and their four children.

Recalling her relationship with Musk, Gillis said she was happy to have been able to give Musk a place where he could feel understood, cared for, and loved in a calm manner.

Gillis said their family was a "safe place" for Musk—a place where he could find solace away from work and outside pressures.

"I loved him more than life itself," Gillis said, adding that she had learned a lot from Musk, and that their four children were the greatest joys of her life.

Musk and Gillis have four children. Their twins, Strider and Azure, were born in 2021. Arcadia was born in 2024, and their fourth child, Seldon, was born in 2025.

Despite the end of their relationship, Gillis expressed her hope to remain on friendly terms with Musk in the future and raise their children together. She wrote that she hopes they can be "good friends and co-parents."

Meanwhile, Elon Musk has not yet commented publicly on the separation. Even after Gillis' post, Musk has been seen posting on social media about various business topics.

Musk and Gillis' relationship has long been a private one. The birth of their twins was announced in 2022. Gillis revealed more about their relationship in a court filing this year.
