The life of legendary dancer and actor Fred Astaire, who played the role of a legendary dancer and actor during the Golden Age of Hollywood, is coming to the big screen. Talia Ryder has joined Tom Holland in the biopic. Margaret Qualley and Sabrina Carpenter have already signed on to star in the film, which is being produced by Sony Pictures.
Tom Holland will play Fred Astaire in the film. Margaret Qualley will play his older sister and longtime dance partner Adele Astaire. Sabrina Carpenter will play Ginger Rogers, one of Astaire's most popular film co-stars.
Talia Ryder will play actress and dancer June Allison. The role is particularly significant for Ryder, who is trained in classical dance. June Allison was a popular MGM actress and dancer. She was initially considered to star opposite Fred Astaire in the 1950 musical "Royal Wedding." The pair ultimately never made it to the big screen. But Ryder is becoming a part of that history in Astaire's biopic.
'Paddington' fame director Paul King is directing the film. Members of the Astaire family are also involved in the film. Fred's daughter Ava Astaire MacKenzie has said that she is ready to fully cooperate. Son Tyler MacKenzie will remain as a consultant and co-producer. It is worth noting that Ryder came into the spotlight with 'Never Rarely Sometimes Always'. Later, he acted with Margaret Qualley in Ethan Coen's 'Honey Don't'.
