US copied Shahed-136 drone: IRGC claims

Brigadier General Majid Mousavi, commander of the Aerospace Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has claimed that the United States has developed a drone called 'Lucas' based on the design and technology of the well-known Iranian-made kamikaze drone 'Shahed-136'. He made the sensational remarks at a special event held in the western Iranian city of Khorramabad on Saturday.

Speaking at the event, General Mousavi said that Iran's drone technology has advanced so far today thanks to the innovative thinking and military experience of the country's young generation. This drone fleet has now become a very effective and powerful tool in protecting the country's sovereignty. Iran's arsenal includes various types of 'Shahed' series drones, some of which are used for direct attack or strike missions and some for surveillance and intelligence gathering.

Claiming that the US military was forced to imitate Iran's technology, he said that Washington was forced to develop the 'Lucas' drone modeled after the Shahed-136 drone and add it to its own arsenal. He also cited the 'Operation True Promise 1' campaign, which was successfully conducted entirely with the IRGC's own drones, as proof of the capability of its own technology.
