Iran: US will open Strait of Hormuz if all conditions are met

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz depends on the progress of Iran's talks with the US. However, they claim that the ongoing talks with Oman have nothing to do with it.

Iran's state news agency Tasnim reported that IRGC spokesman Sardar Mohebbi said that Iran has a "specific process and conditions" for opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Mohebbi said, "For us, the Strait of Hormuz is not just an economic waterway, but also an element of geographical and strategic power." He said that the US must "fully accept" all of Iran's conditions to open this important sea route and stop interfering in regional talks.

The IRGC spokesman also said, "The Strait of Hormuz will definitely be opened whenever the US accepts Iran's conditions." Through this, Tehran sent a message that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz directly depends on Iran's agreement with the US.

At the same time, the IRGC has also rejected the idea that the crisis will be resolved through the ongoing talks mediated by Oman.
