US President Donald Trump has claimed that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer may resign. He made this comment on social media, accusing him of failing in immigration and energy policies. At the same time, speculation has also started in the British media about Starmer's future. There are even indications that he may announce a timetable for his departure by Monday (June 21).

According to Reuters, Trump made these comments about Keir Starmer's resignation in a post on Truth Social on Sunday. He wrote, "Keir Starmer will resign as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He has failed miserably on two very important issues - immigration and energy (start oil extraction in the North Sea!). I wish him well."

Earlier, the BBC reported that there are indications that Starmer may announce his plan to leave the post very soon. Several people associated with the government told the BBC that they believe Starmer may announce a possible timetable for his departure by Monday.

Trump's comments come as questions are being raised about Starmer's political future. The Associated Press (AP) reported that he could face a potential challenge from his own party member Andy Burnham. Or he could decide to resign.

Although Starmer has pledged to continue as prime minister, some members of the Labor Party have indicated that he should step down.

If Starmer resigns, he will become the sixth UK prime minister to resign in a decade, the AP reported. His popularity has also been hit by economic problems in recent months.

He has also come under political pressure over his decision to appoint Peter Mandelson as the UK ambassador to the United States. It has been reported that Peter Mandelson had a relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Incidentally, Trump and Starmer have recently had differences of opinion on various issues. In particular, their positions differed on NATO, the war in Ukraine and the Iran issue. However, both attended the G7 summit in France last week, where the new peace deal between the United States and Iran was the focus of discussion.
