US President Donald Trump has made it clear that even if there is a deal with Iran to end the ongoing war, the country's frozen assets will not be released immediately. He made this comment in an exclusive interview given to the US media NBC News' 'Meet the Press' program.

In the interview, Trump hinted at possible talks between Tehran and Washington and said, "Yes, if they behave well and play the right role, we will start talking." However, he made it clear that even if an agreement is reached at the negotiating table, Iran will not get its frozen money back right now.

According to Iranian media and relevant experts, more than $100 billion worth of Iranian assets are currently frozen or blocked in various international banks, waiting to be released. Tehran has long been demanding the release of this huge amount of money as the main condition for reaching any kind of agreement with Washington.

However, the US President's latest statement dealt a major blow to Iran's hopes.
