Trump has opened up about the killing of a US citizen.

Another person has been killed in a shooting by federal agents in the US city of Minneapolis amid an anti-immigration operation. On Saturday (January 24) morning, 37-year-old Alex Pretty was shot and killed by ICE agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. The incident has sparked new protests and has led to strong demands for President Donald Trump to withdraw heavily armed federal forces from the city.

President Donald Trump has blamed local law enforcement agencies, including Minnesota officials, for the incident. In a post on his social media account Truth Social, Trump said that local police should have been on the scene to protect ICE agents.

Multiple videos circulating on social media show ICE officers in Minneapolis throwing a man to the ground and wrestling him. He was then shot multiple times. Media reports indicate that Pretty was carrying a legal firearm at the time of the incident. However, authorities have not said whether he drew it during the incident. It is not clear whether Pretty drew a firearm in videos taken by people around the incident.

In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote with a picture of a firearm, "This is the gun of the gunman, loaded (with two more magazines full of bullets), what does that mean? Where are the local police? Why are they not allowed to protect the ICE officers? Did the mayor and governor remove them?"

He also wrote, "Many of these police officers are not allowed to work. As a result, the ICE officers have to provide their own protection. This is not an easy task! The mayor and governor are fomenting rebellion with their arrogant, dangerous and angry rhetoric.’

Calling ICE officials ‘patriots’, Trump said, ‘Let our ICE patriots do their job! 12,000 illegal immigrant criminals, many of them violent, have been arrested and removed from Minnesota. If they were still there, they would be seeing something much worse than what they are seeing today!’

The person killed in the shooting (Alex Pretty) was later identified as a registered nurse in the United States. Earlier this month, a woman named Renee Goode was shot and killed by ICE in Minneapolis. Pretty had joined a protest organized to protest against it. In a video, ICE agents can also be seen throwing pepper spray at Pretty and other protesters.
