US President Donald Trump has posted a photo on his social media account 'Truth' claiming Greenland as his own territory. The photo, posted on Monday (January 19), shows him standing in Greenland holding the American flag. A placard in front of the photo reads, 'Greenland: US Territory, Established. 2026.'

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance are seen standing next to him in the photo.

He previously posted another photo. The photo is an edited version of a photo taken in August 2025. Where European leaders visited Washington for Trump's phone call with Vladimir Putin. The presentation board in the photo has also been changed in such a way that North America, Canada and Greenland are covered with an American flag. The original photo depicts the front lines of the Ukraine conflict.

It is worth noting that Donald Trump is constantly pushing for the direct occupation or purchase of Greenland, an autonomous region of Denmark. After claiming that Greenland is "necessary for national security," he further emphasized his message by posting such a picture.
