US President Donald Trump.

US President Donald Trump said that NATO has become stronger under his leadership. This military alliance relies a lot on the US. He made these comments while speaking to reporters at a White House briefing on Tuesday (January 20).

Trump was asked if he was committed to keeping the US in NATO? In response, the US president said, “I made it much better, much stronger. It is much better. NATO is much stronger now.”

Trump also criticized NATO’s past actions. He especially commented on the issues before he came to power. Trump said, “I don’t agree with a lot of what they did, but it was done before I got there. I think NATO was good.”

He also said, “Sometimes it gets overrated. But we have a strong NATO. When I came here, we had a weak NATO. If NATO doesn't keep us, it's not very strong.
