Bangladesh are the champions of the last two editions of the Under-19 Asia Cup. The young Bangladeshi side is heading to Oman with hopes of securing a hat-trick of titles.

Speaking about the team’s objectives for the tournament, Fahim Sinha, Chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Game Development Committee, said, “Naturally, the expectation is to win the Asia Cup. However, the World Cup is our ultimate target. This group will remain together until the World Cup. It is a long journey, with the World Cup scheduled for early 2028. Winning the World Cup is definitely our goal.”

Fahim Sinha added that the expectation from the coaching staff—whether local or foreign—is to ensure that the development process remains on the right track. “It is not a case where we must win every single match or that we absolutely have to win the Asia Cup.”

The BCB director further noted, “We will put in our best effort to win, and the aim is to return as Asia Cup champions. But our primary focus will be on the players' development and ensuring that our processes are sound. We will be looking at the outcomes and identifying how many players show the potential to perform well in the future.”
