Fans are in a frenzy over Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming much-awaited film 'King' directed by Siddharth Anand. Now, another piece of news has added to that frenzy.

According to Indian media reports, this film will reunite Bollywood stars Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan on the big screen after a gap of two decades. There are rumours that they may be cast opposite each other in the film.

Earlier, there were rumours that Rani Mukerji would be playing a cameo role in the film as the mother of Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan. However, this possible reunion of Rani and Abhishek makes the star-studded cast of the film even more interesting. Although there is no official announcement about their roles from the makers yet.

This film will also mark the much-awaited reunion of Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji. The popular pair last shared the screen together in Karan Johar's superhit film 'Kavi Alvida Na Kehna' in 2006.

Meanwhile, the star-studded movie 'King' reportedly has a huge ensemble cast including Shah Rukh, Rani, Abhishek, Suhana Khan, as well as Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma and Raghav Juwal.

If everything goes well, the movie 'King' is scheduled to be released on the big screen on December 24 of this year.
