’Spider-Man’ actress Mary Egida Rivera dies

Aary Egida Rivera, a veteran actress who became famous worldwide for playing the role of Jacob Batalon's (Ned) nanny in the Marvel movie 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', has died. Her sudden death has cast a shadow of grief over Marvel fans and the film industry.

She was 82 years old at the time of her death.

International media TMZ reported on Monday (August 3) that Mary Rivera passed away in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, on April 15, citing the actress's obituary and relatives.

A family member said that she had suffered a stroke. The relative also said that Mary was very proud of her short but memorable role in the movie 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'.

Although Mary Rivera's appearance in the movie was brief, it provided a lot of laughter to the audience in the theater.

In the film, Mary enters the house just as Ned and MJ (Zendaya) are having a tense moment with Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man from the Alternate Universe. In a lighthearted atmosphere, she orders Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man to clean the cobwebs from the corner of the ceiling through Ned.

Mary won the hearts of the audience by sharing the screen with big stars like Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon in the scene.

It is worth noting that Mary Egida Rivera was born on June 2, 1943 in Iloilo, Philippines. She was a retired missionary in her professional life. In her personal life, she is survived by her husband Alejandro Rivera, four children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
