‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ takes the box office by storm

Marvel-Sony’s ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is showing its dominance at the box office in its first week of release. The Tom Holland-starrer has set one of the biggest opening weekend records in history by earning $927 million worldwide. It has also earned over Rs 250 crore in India.

According to box office tracker SackNil, the film earned Rs 76 crore (net) from 18,051 shows in India on Sunday (August 2). This takes the total net collection in India to Rs 256.2 crore in four days. At the same time, the gross collection of the film has reached Rs 306.37 crore.

While the English version of the film has earned the most in India, the Hindi dubbed version is also drawing good audiences in multiplexes. Trade analysts believe that the film’s earnings will remain strong on weekdays as there are no major rival films. It is expected to set one of the highest grossing records in Hollywood on its first Monday as well.

Not only in India, but also in the global market, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has achieved great success. According to Box Office Mojo, the film’s global revenue reached $927 million in its opening weekend.

Variety reported that the film earned $355 million in North America and another $572 million from the international market. In total, this opening revenue of $927 million is the second highest in cinema history. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ tops the list.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker or Spider-Man in the film directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon and Jon Favreau also play important roles.

The film is receiving a positive response from the audience after its release in various countries around the world. As a result, film analysts believe that its success at the box office will continue in the coming days.
