Expatriate income increased by 24 percent

In the first 21 days of September, expatriate income or remittances came to the country worth 2031 million US dollars, which stands at 24,778.2 million taka in local currency (122 taka per dollar).

Of this, expatriates sent 1,561.6 million taka on Sunday. Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan gave this information on Monday (September 22).

Spokesperson Arif Hossain said that expatriate income came in at 1634 million dollars in the first 21 days of September last year. During this period, expatriate income increased by 397 million dollars or 24.30 percent.

On the other hand, from July 1 to September 21 of this year, expatriate income came in at 693 million dollars. From July 1 to September 21 of last year, expatriate income came in at 5772 million dollars during the same period. During this period, expatriate income increased by 1148 million dollars.
