The three-day '12th Asian Tourism Fair-2025' began at the capital's International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on Thursday with attractive packages and discounts for domestic and international travel in view of the upcoming tourism season. The second day of the Asian Tourism Fair is underway today, Friday. The event will close tomorrow, Saturday at 4:30 pm.

Nasreen Jahan, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, will be present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Asian Tourism Fair. Bangladesh Tourism Board CEO Yasmin and the ambassadors of the Philippines and Maldives will be present as special guests.

Meanwhile, there was a huge crowd of visitors from the first day of the fair. However, since today is a holiday, Friday, the presence of the public at the fair was noticeable from the morning. The crowd of visitors started increasing from the afternoon.

Rezwan Kabir came to the fair with his family. He said, "I come to the Asian Tourism Fair every year. I have come this time too. I am visiting the fair. Various tour operators are offering special discounts and attractive packages. I believe that organizing such fairs will play a role in the sustainable development of tourism in the country."

Rahat Sikder, who came from Dhanmondi, said, "Traveling around the country and abroad is my passion. Therefore, organizing such fairs in the country creates an opportunity to showcase Bangladesh's tourism destinations to the world."

Organized by Parjatan Bichitra, this year's fair, apart from Bangladesh, various tourism organizations and business organizations from partner countries Philippines, Maldives and Nepal have participated.

Airlines, hotels, resorts, tour operators and travel agents are offering special discounts and attractive packages for the upcoming tourism season in 180 booths in two halls at the fair. Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the title sponsor of the fair.

Through this arrangement, the Asian Tourism Fair is being organized to bring dynamism to all business organizations including hotels, resorts, cruises, airlines, theme parks, tour operators, travel agents, and all destinations in the tourism industry. This fair is working as an important milestone to showcase Bangladesh's tourism destinations to the world through government-private initiatives.

In continuation of the past years, organized by Parjatan Bichitra, endorsed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, and with the overall support of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Bangladesh Tourism Board and Tourist Police Bangladesh, this colorful fair is being held for 3 days at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka. The fair has various package offers for domestic and foreign travel around the upcoming tourism season. Various business activities including children's drawing competition, B2B session, destination and product presentation, panel discussion are being held at the fair. As part of this year's fair, the 'Bangladesh Tourism Investment Showcase' is being held simultaneously. Exhibitions of upcoming projects in the tourism industry and local investment opportunities are being presented through the fair.

The fair will feature cultural programs organized by Bangladesh and the Philippines. An attempt will be made to present a complete picture of the tourism industry to the visitors through this fair.

Chairman of the Asian Tourism Fair and Editor of Parjatan Bichitra, Mohiuddin Helal, said that various fairs-festivals, events, conferences and food festivals, etc. for the tourism industry of Bangladesh have always been appreciated by domestic and foreign tourists. Any fair-festival and festival related to tourism are an important part of the tourism industry. Like every year, we have received a huge response to the fair this year too. Moreover, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism is looking at this fair with great importance.
