Chicken prices increase by 20 to 100 taka per kg during Ramadan

The price of chicken meat has increased in the capital's markets on the first day of Ramadan. The price has increased by 20 to 100 taka per kg depending on the variety.
This information was obtained by visiting Karwan Bazar on Thursday (February 19) and talking to buyers and sellers. Along with this, beef was seen being sold for 780 to 800 taka and khasi meat for 1200 to 1250 taka per kg. It was seen in the market that broiler chicken was being sold for 200 taka, desi chicken for 750 taka, golden chicken for 300 to 340 taka and red layer chicken for 330 taka per kg.
Sumon, an employee of the Sata Chicken Shop at Karwan Bazar Kitchen Market, told reporters that the price of all types of chicken has increased. A week ago, broiler chicken was sold for 180 taka per kg, but now it is priced at 200 taka. Desi chicken was sold for 580 to 680 taka, but now it is being sold for 750 taka. And red chicken, which costs 280 taka, is now being sold for 330 taka per kg.
Meanwhile, lemons are being sold at Tk 60 to Tk 120 per kg, cucumbers at Tk 100 to Tk 120 per kg, and brinjals at Tk 100 to Tk 120 per kg. Potatoes and onions are being sold at Tk 20 per kg and Tk 50 per kg, respectively.
