Hezbollah launched a drone attack targeting the car of Major General Rafi Milo, head of the Northern Command of the Israeli Army (IDF), in southern Lebanon. However, General Rafi got out of the car at the last minute. There were no casualties in the attack.
The occupying country's state broadcaster Kan reported that Major Milo had visited a village in southern Lebanon. He was on a field trip with several military officers.
The report said that shortly after Milo and an assistant got out of their car, an explosive-laden first-person-view drone hit their car. The car was damaged, but they were unharmed.
The incident came to light after Israeli military authorities allowed the news to be published. The country said that Hezbollah has been deliberately targeting senior IDF officers in recent times.
Last week, Kan reported that Hezbollah is closely monitoring the movements of senior Israeli military officials. Their aim is to strike at Israel's command, control and defense systems through drones, other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and coordinated attacks. The attack on General Rafi may be part of that strategy.
