Sri Lanka removes Pakistan from ‘negative visa’ list

Sri Lanka has removed Pakistan from all types of ‘negative visa’ list. The decision was taken in a meeting between Pakistan’s Home Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Colombo. The decision is being seen as an important initiative to remove travel complications for Pakistani citizens and further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
In the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi raised the issue of visa-related problems for Pakistani citizens. Considering the matter seriously, he directed President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to immediately remove Pakistan from all ‘negative’ lists.
As a result, Sri Lanka has now officially exempted Pakistan from all ‘negative visa’ lists, which has brought relief to Pakistani travelers and businessmen.
Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Pakistan High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Major General (Retd) Fahimul Aziz were also present.
Expectations for strong bilateral relations
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake reiterated his commitment to further strengthen the relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He also announced that the Sri Lankan Prime Minister will visit Pakistan very soon, which is a clear indication of the continuation of high-level contacts between the two countries.
Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the active and positive role of the Sri Lankan President in developing Pakistan-Sri Lanka relations and enhancing cooperation in various fields.
