Israel has no interest in getting involved in the ongoing military conflict between the US and Iran. The country’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich made this clear to local media. At a recent conference, he said that considering the current situation, Israel does not want to be a part of this tension on its own initiative.

According to a report by the Israeli daily Haaretz, Smotrich said, “The current situation of this limited conflict between Iran and the US is the most suitable and best for us. We do not want to get involved in this conflict by going too far.”

It is worth noting that since the ceasefire in April, Israel has largely stayed away from the conflict at the request of Washington during the negotiations between the US and Iran. Although a compromise agreement was signed between the two countries last month, it did not last long.

This short-term pause was followed by renewed US-Iranian exchanges over control of the Strait of Hormuz. However, Israel has maintained its neutral stance amid the renewed tensions.
