Women's nutritional needs change at different stages of life. Therefore, health experts have warned that the lack of certain nutrients at the age of 20, 40 and 60 can negatively affect women's health.
Experts say that iron and folate deficiencies are most common among women in their 20s. Iron deficiency can cause problems such as fatigue, weakness and lack of concentration or brain fog. On the other hand, folate is essential for the formation of new cells in the body and the healthy development of the baby during pregnancy.
When you reach the age of 40, the body's need for magnesium, vitamin D and calcium increases due to hormonal changes. The lack of these nutrients increases the risk of sleep problems, muscle tension, anxiety and weak bones.
After the age of 60, the body cannot absorb nutrients as effectively as before. At this stage, the risk of vitamin B12 and omega-3 fatty acid deficiencies is highest.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to nerve problems, memory loss and chronic fatigue. In addition, omega-3 fatty acids are considered very beneficial for heart, brain and joint health.
Gynecologists say that many women ignore symptoms such as fatigue, hair loss and mood swings. However, these can be clear indications of serious nutritional deficiencies in the body.
According to experts, relying on simple multivitamins alone is not enough. Treatment and nutritional supplements should be taken according to age, blood test results and doctor's advice.
They also said that by following a balanced diet, regular health check-ups and paying due attention to age-related nutritional needs, women can significantly improve their overall health, including their bones, heart and brain.
