Sanjay Dutt’s daughter says peace matters more than family image

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt’s daughter, Trishala Dutt, has shared a cryptic yet powerful post on Instagram, stirring conversations around family dynamics, respect, and mental well-being.

In her Instagram Story, Trishala wrote that being related by blood does not necessarily entitle someone to a place in one’s life, adding that at times the most draining and neglectful individuals are those labeled as “family.”

“Peace of mind is more important than family image,” she emphasized, underscoring that children have the right to distance themselves from parents or relatives who repeatedly hurt them or impose guilt.

She further noted that when parents prioritize maintaining the family’s external image over their children’s happiness, it can cause lasting emotional damage. Trishala urged that no one should feel forced to engage with toxic family members, regardless of the relationship.

A glimpse into her journey
Born in 1988 to Sanjay Dutt and his first wife, actress Richa Sharma, Trishala lost her mother to a brain tumor in 1996 and has since lived with her maternal grandparents in the United States. Despite living away from Bollywood’s limelight, she often makes headlines with her candid reflections on social media.

Earlier this month, on her birthday (August 10), Sanjay Dutt posted a heartfelt message for his daughter: “Always proud of you, always love you.”

After Richa Sharma’s passing, Sanjay Dutt married Rhea Pillai in 1998, a marriage that ended in 2008. He is now married to Manyata Dutt, with whom he has twins, Shahran and Iqra.
