Tom Cruise declined The proposal from Trump

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has decided not to accept the Kennedy Center Honor offered by U.S. President Donald Trump. The Top Gun: Maverick actor stated that due to scheduling conflicts, he was unable to accept Trump’s proposal. —Washington Post

Reports say that during Trump’s second term in the White House, Tom Cruise was included in the first list of recipients of this prestigious honor. However, despite being named on the list, the actor eventually turned down the offer because of his schedule.

On Wednesday (August 13), the 48th Kennedy Center Honorees list was released. It includes glam metal band KISS, Broadway star Michael Crawford, country music legend George Strait, and singer Gloria Gaynor. In the film actors’ category, Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, and Jon Voight are also listed.

Trump has announced that this year’s Kennedy Center Honors ceremony will be personally hosted by him.
