Remittances are flying, 9,198 crore taka came in 8 days

During the first 8 days of this November, expatriates sent 754.2 million dollars to the country. At 122 taka per dollar, which is about 9,198 crore taka in local currency. With this, an average of 4.25 million dollars or about 1,150 crore taka came into the country every day. This information was revealed from the updated report of Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (November 9).
According to the updated report of the central bank, 754.2 million dollars in remittances came into the country in the first 8 days of this November. Whereas last year, remittances came in the country at the same time of 628 million dollars. This means that the remittance flow has increased by 20.1 percent.
Meanwhile, in the first 8 days of this November, 186.1 million dollars in remittances came into the country through state-owned banks. In addition, 105.1 million dollars came through specialized banks, 461.3 million dollars through private banks, and 1.5 million dollars through banks abroad.
Earlier, during the outgoing October, expatriates sent $2.56 billion 3.4 million to the country. At a rate of 122 taka per dollar, the amount is more than 31,131 billion taka in local currency. Accordingly, an average of $82.7 million in remittances came into the country every day last month.
