Five individuals have been executed in Saudi Arabia on charges of involvement in terrorism. The country’s Ministry of Interior announced this on Saturday (October 17).

According to the Ministry, the five individuals had joined a foreign terrorist organization. They were also found guilty of carrying out attacks against security forces, security headquarters, and vehicles using firearms and explosives.

The Ministry stated that they were also proven to have possessed weapons and live ammunition, as well as having provided funding for terrorist activities and assistance in orchestrating attacks within Saudi Arabia.

The execution was announced in a statement released on the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Saudi Ministry of Interior. The statement noted that the executions were carried out today, Saturday, in the Eastern Province.

The Ministry stated that the sentences were executed in accordance with judicial death penalty rulings. However, no details were provided regarding the identities of the individuals, the specific location of the executions, or the exact date.

Previously, the country executed two Bangladeshi nationals for committing immoral acts inside a mosque in Mecca.

Human rights organizations have reported that at least 356 people have been executed in Saudi Arabia in 2025—the highest number of executions in a single year in the country's modern history. The majority of those executed are foreign nationals.
