There’s a festive atmosphere at Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s residence — another Tendulkar is set to tie the knot! Sachin’s son, Arjun, is about to begin a new chapter in his life, and his engagement has already taken place.

Arjun is set to marry Sania Chandok, the granddaughter of prominent Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai. The engagement ceremony was attended only by close family members and friends.

The Ghai family is well-known in the hospitality and food industry, owning the InterContinental Hotel and the ice cream brand Brooklyn Creamery.

Neither the Tendulkar nor the Ghai family has issued an official statement yet. A day before the engagement, Arjun posted an Instagram story showing himself bowling, with the caption: “Just the cricket field.”

His last post before that was on Raksha Bandhan, sharing a fun moment with his sister Sara where he was attempting to do her makeup, captioned: “Happy Raksha Bandhan to this chaotic duo.”

Sachin himself married young — at just 19, he asked his future wife Anjali’s mother for permission to marry her. They eventually wed in 1995, when Sachin was 22.

Arjun Tendulkar, 25, is a left-arm pacer and all-rounder who plays domestic cricket for Goa. On his first-class debut for Goa in the 2022 Ranji Trophy against Rajasthan, he scored a century — a feat that matched his father’s debut century in the same tournament 34 years earlier.

So far, in 17 first-class matches, Arjun has taken 37 wickets and scored 532 runs. In 18 List A matches, he has claimed 25 wickets, and in 24 T20s, he has taken 27 wickets. In the IPL, he has played for Mumbai Indians. Bought in 2021 for ₹20 lakh, he made his debut in 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders and took his first wicket — Bhuvneshwar Kumar — against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the same season. Before the 2025 season, Mumbai released him, but re-signed him at the mega auction for ₹30 lakh.
