’Trump could launch a nuclear attack on Iran within days’

US President Donald Trump's administration could decide within days to launch a nuclear attack on Iran, US political commentator Tucker Carlson has claimed, claiming that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressuring Trump to authorize an attack on a suspected Iranian nuclear facility.
Carlson made these claims in a long post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday night (November 1).
He mentioned a site in central Iran called "Pickaxe Mountain" as a possible target for an attack. Carlson claimed that Israeli intelligence believes Iran has resumed nuclear uranium enrichment activities there.
Tucker Carlson is a conservative political commentator and former Fox News anchor. He hosted the show "Tucker Carlson Tonight" from 2016 to 2023. He currently hosts his own independent political show on X, where he regularly comments on U.S. foreign policy and international issues.
Carlson claims that the underground tunnels of Pickaxe Mountain are protected by solid granite rock about 300 feet thick, making them impossible to hit with conventional US weapons. According to him, the only option for military action would be a nuclear attack.
Carlson quoted an anonymous person in his post as saying, "Bibi (Netanyahu) calls Trump every day about this."
Carlson also commented on Netanyahu's political future, claiming that Netanyahu needs Trump's intervention to secure a 61-seat majority in the Knesset, the country's parliament, after Israel's recent elections. Otherwise, he could lose power and risk investigation and imprisonment.
Carlson also alleged that Netanyahu is pressuring senior US officials, including US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Admiral Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command, to resume major military operations in Iran.
He also claimed that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe are also following Netanyahu's position.
Carlson also said that former US President Barack Obama also opposed the Iran-US peace agreement being drafted in the Qatari capital of Doha.
However, Carlson's post did not cite any independently verifiable evidence or official statements from relevant US and Israeli authorities to support these claims. In particular, the report does not contain any information confirming the truth of the claim that Iran is preparing for a nuclear attack.
