Emmy Awards 2026: See who took home the top prizes in television

"Widow's Bay" stormed the Emmy Awards on Monday night, breaking a record for a comedy series with 14 awards, including best comedy series and three acting wins. Here's a recap of the night's big winners.
 

The 78th Emmy Awards have come to a close.

"Widow's Bay" was the big winner of the night and has set a new all-time record for most Emmy wins ever by a comedy series with 14. The show swept in the comedy series categories, including outstanding comedy series, directing and writing.

Its lead actor, Matthew Rhys, also won big tonight by taking home two Emmys for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series and also for outstanding lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie.

Jean Smart also collected her eighth career Emmy for outstanding lead actress for "Hacks" -- her fifth for that role.

For drama, "The Pitt" won outstanding drama series again after taking home the award last year and its lead actor Noah Wyle also won again for outstanding lead actor in a drama series."

In the limited or anthology series or movie category, "DTF: St. Louis" won the Emmy for outstanding limited or anthology series or movie.
