White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has stated that U.S. President Donald Trump should have received the Nobel Peace Prize long ago. According to her, Trump played a crucial role in numerous international peace agreements. Although he has been nominated several times, he has yet to receive the prestigious award.

At a briefing in Washington on Thursday, Leavitt asserted that nearly one peace agreement is achieved every month, and that Trump’s intervention was instrumental in quickly securing a ceasefire in the latest Thailand-Cambodia border conflict.

Trump himself has long maintained that he deserves the prize. In June, he remarked, “They only give the award to liberals, so I never get it.”

Recently, several foreign leaders have nominated Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who put his name forward for mediating discussions on a ceasefire in the Israel-Iran conflict.

However, even before the ceasefire talks began, the United States launched an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Trump claimed this strike was a “decisive move akin to Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II” and that it effectively ended the Iran conflict. His comments were condemned by Japanese officials, who called them "morally reckless and offensive."

The Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia has also nominated Trump for his role in easing tensions on the Thailand-Cambodia border.

Earlier, Pakistan expressed support for nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize due to his efforts in reducing India-Pakistan tensions. However, India rejected this claim, saying there was no third-party involvement in the discussions.

Trump had previously said that if he became president, he would end the Ukraine war within 24 hours. Later, he clarified that this was “sarcasm,” and he now claims the war could be ended within 100 days.

Meanwhile, in July, the Trump administration approved the delivery of advanced weapons and Patriot missile systems to Ukraine—funded by European NATO allies. Russia called this move provocative, claiming the United States is escalating war in the name of peace.
