US President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States did not initiate the war with Iran. He added, however, that this conflict should have been resolved long before he took office.

Trump made these remarks while speaking at a campaign rally in Chillicothe, Ohio, ahead of the US midterm elections scheduled for November 3.

He asserted that while Iran still possesses missiles, their numbers are significantly lower than before. He further claimed that Iranian drone manufacturers are facing a crisis, stating that they are unable to continue production due to a lack of electricity. "We did not start this war," Trump said, adding, "This conflict should have been resolved long before I arrived here."

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a war against Iran. At the time, negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program—mediated by Oman—were underway. Amidst these talks, the two nations carried out a second round of attacks on Iran. Previously, last year, the US and Israel had also bombed Iranian nuclear facilities while negotiations were in progress.
