The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has again increased the price of jet fuel in the country. The new price has been set at 182.71 taka per liter (including duty and VAT) for domestic flights. Last month, this price was 165.65 taka.
This means that the price of jet fuel per liter increased by 17 taka and 6 paisa in October compared to September. In percentage terms, this price increase is about 10.30 percent.
BERC issued a notification on Wednesday (October 7) setting the new prices. According to the notification, the new prices will be effective from 12:00 midnight on October 7 and will remain in effect until further orders.
BERC said the new price has been determined taking into account the average of the Jet A-1 plats rates in the international market and the US dollar exchange rate mentioned in the LC statement of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).
Meanwhile, the price of jet fuel for international flights has also been increased. According to the new price, the price of jet fuel per liter, excluding duty and VAT, has been increased from $1.0770 to $1.1882.
According to BERC's new decision, from now on, there will be additional pressure on fuel costs for both domestic and international flights.
