The death of model and actress Humaira Asghar has been declared natural, as police and forensic reports rule out any evidence of poisoning, drugs, or foul play.

According to police officials, a chemical analysis report of the actress’s body, conducted by the University of Karachi’s forensic lab, found no traces of any sedative, psychotropic, narcotic, or toxic substances in the samples. This finding has led investigators to conclude that her death likely occurred due to natural causes.

Hair, liver, lungs, and other organ samples from the deceased were sent to the lab for detailed analysis. The laboratory has now returned its findings, confirming the absence of any harmful substances.

Police officials stated that a comprehensive report, including the lab findings, will be submitted as part of the investigation.

Humaira was found dead in her apartment located in Karachi’s Defence area. Initially, suspicions had arisen about the circumstances surrounding her death, prompting a full forensic investigation. However, officials confirmed that no signs of forced entry or the presence of any other person were found at the scene.

Nine different samples taken from her body were examined during the forensic process. Police have confirmed that all tests have been completed and no harmful substances were detected.

To further confirm the identity of the deceased, a DNA match was conducted with her brother, Naveed, which positively identified the body as that of Humaira Asghar.

In addition, police have also reviewed her travel history. Records show that the actress last traveled to Dubai on May 8, 2023, and returned to Karachi five days later.

With the forensic and DNA findings now confirmed, authorities are closing the investigation, officially declaring her death as due to natural causes.

On the other hand, Humaira's parents have broken their silence, expressing doubts about the nature of her death and countering claims that they had disowned her.

In interviews with local television channels, Humaira’s father, Dr Asghar, and her mother rejected media speculation that they had abandoned their daughter in death. They also dismissed suggestions that she had been facing financial hardship at the time of her demise.

“It is untrue that we refused to take her body. I had sent my son to Karachi to receive it once legal formalities were completed,” said Dr Asghar. “We were informed by the police after relatives contacted us. Since post-mortem and procedural work had yet to be completed, we had to wait.”
