US seeking ‘long-term settlement’ with Iran: VP

US Vice President JD Vance has claimed that US strikes have successfully set back Iran’s nuclear weapons programme, and said that President Donald Trump was now seeking a diplomatic resolution.

According to details, Vance said: “We don’t want to drag this out any longer, nor do we want it to escalate further. We want to end their nuclear programme.” 

“We would like to engage the Iranians in talks for a long-term settlement,” he added.

It is pertinent to note that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that US strikes have destroyed any possibility of diplomacy.
