Awal Chowdhury Honored for Excellence in Journalism with Global Award

Renowned journalist Awal Chowdhury has been honored in the international arena. He has left a mark of achievement in the country and abroad through journalism. He has been awarded the Global Leaders Award-2025 for his outstanding contribution to journalism.

The prestigious award, organized by BIZOX Media, will be presented in the Media Leadership category in recognition of his exceptional leadership, investigative reporting, and impactful work in society.

The selection committee stated, ''Your outstanding contribution to journalism, your in-depth and investigate reporting in pursuit of truth, and your significant role in driving positive social change have greatly impressed us. Furthermore, Your diverse talents and continuous efforts in social work have played a vital role in community development and stand as a true example of dedication and excellence. We are honored to recognize your remarkable achievements with this award.''

The award ceremony will take place on August 24, 2025, in a grand event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where distinguished personalities from around the world are expected to attend.

The Global Leadership Award is presented annually to individuals across the globe who demonstrate professional excellence, integrity, and social leadership. An independent international jury board of BIZOX Media finalizes the list of award recipients in various categories each year.

In 2025, Awal Chowdhury was announced as the recipient of the Media Leadership Award for his decades-long dedication to journalism, impactful social contributions, and his strong voice representing immigrant journalists worldwide.

In his reaction to receiving the award, Awal Chowdhury said, "This international recognition will further inspire me to fulfill my journalistic responsibilities with greater dedication. I believe journalism is a powerful tool for protecting people's rights, and I intend to continue this mission tirelessly."

Awal Chowdhury has been involved in journalism for over two decades. He has worked with various newspapers, online platforms, and television media in Bangladesh. Currently, he is based in the United States, working with nymorning.com, a news outlet. Alongside his role as a journalist, he is also a columnist, investigative reporter, and the author of several books.

Throughout his career, he has received multiple national and international awards for his contributions to journalism. Previously, he was honored with the Global Youth Leadership Award at a ceremony held in Dubai.

Awal Chowdhury is a member of the Society of professional Journalists, America's oldest journalism organization, as well as the South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) and the National Press Club.
