A young woman ’turned down’ Mamdani, regretting the reason

Sometimes the story of being turned down on a dating app comes to the fore as a lifelong regret. And one such story is now flooding social media. A few years ago, a young woman met Zohran Mamdani on the dating app 'Hinge', but he was turned down by him. The reason was one thing - his height!

According to the young woman, Zohran's profile said 5 feet 10 or 5 feet 11. And she thought - 'boys usually write their height inflated', so maybe his actual height is not more than 5 feet 9! That 'height filter' has made him a laughing stock in the internet world today. News from NDTV.

A screenshot of that experience, recently posted on TikTok, is circulating on X-A (Twitter). In a popular post, a user wrote: 'Fumble of the Century' or the biggest mistake of the century. Another commented: 'Imagine, the future mayor was rejected just because of his height!'

Another comment made an even more eye-catching headline - 'This is exactly why the future president still doesn't get a chance to meet and talk anywhere.'

Interestingly, Zohran Mamdani and his wife Rama Duazir met in 2021 on the same app that he was rejected on, Hinge. They had been out of the limelight since the beginning of their relationship. They exchanged rings in October 2024. The following December, they had a grand 'nikah and engagement' ceremony in front of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

Then in early 2025, they had a civil wedding at the Clerk's Office in New York City and later another family celebration in Uganda. Syrian-American artist Rama Duazi usually stays out of the spotlight, but she has been seen standing by her husband Zohran's side with unwavering support at everything from election campaigns to celebrations. And the young woman who mistakenly 'returned' understands today that sometimes even '5 foot 9' can be the greatest super height.
